Day 1     Sandakan Airport or Hotel - CQ Jetty - Selingan. Overnight. (L,D)

You will be picked up by car or coach and transferred to the Crystal Quest Jetty. Boat depart to Turtle Island at 9.30 am. It takes about an hour to reach Selingan Turtle Island which lies 40km north of Sandakan in the Sulu Sea off Sabah's east coast. Selingan Turtle Island is the main nesting area for the Green Turtles and Hawksbill Turtles. Lunch served at café. Free at leisure time ideal for relaxing, swimming and snorkeling. After dinner, prepare to wait for the Park Ranger to inform us of the sighting of a turtle laying eggs. Witness the collecting of eggs from the nesting site, transplanting them to the hatchery and see baby turtles scrambling to the open sea upon released on the shore. Overnight.

***After dinner, we advise advice guests stay in the restaurant with the guide waiting for the Park Ranger to inform us of  turtle sightings.

Day 2     Selingan  - CQ Jetty -  Sepilok Orangutan -  Sun Bear -  SDK Airport or Hotel (B)

Breakfast in the early morning; depart from Turtle Island around 7.00am.

Arrive at the jetty about 8.00am, transferred to the Sepilok Orang-Utan Rehabilitation Centre where orphaned and injured Orang-Utans are brought to be rehabilitated and learn to fend for themselves back in the wild. Sepilok is a primary lowland forest; a fine showcase of Borneo’s remaining rainforest. The highlight is witnessing the feeding of Orang-Utans from a platform in the center of their forest enclosure. A scheduled documentary video about 25 minutes is a great overview of the Orang-Utan.

We continue by visiting Sabah’s first Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) which is next to the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre. The Conservation Centre was founded by Mr. Wong Siew Te, a biologist studying and working with Bornean Sun bears. BSBCC was established in 2008 through collaboration with the Sabah Wildlife Department, Sabah Forestry Department and Land Empowerment Animals People (LEAP). It is a non-government organization and was setup to prevent the endangered bear from becoming extinct. All rescued sun bears are free to roam within the forest enclosure. You have opportunity to get a close view of the world’s smallest bear from the observation platform.

After the tours, you will return to your hotel or Sandakan Airport. The morning tour finishes about noon (1200 hrs).

Your return to the airport/hotel marks the end of service.
